The role of light in architecture has traditionally been, on the theoretical side, of little interest to the majority of architects, regardless of the fact that history clearly indicates light as being one of the cornerstones of architectural space: where light and darkness meet lies the very beginning and end of architecture itself.

On the projection of the trajectory that emerges from Gothic to Modern Movement, the author present the challenge of designing and creating ten architectural models, perceived as the assembly of spaces through the action of light, wishing to set out a path in order to contribute to bring the relationship between light and architectural space back to the centre of theoretical debate and architectural design.
